We are the “data controller” for the personal information described below, which means we are responsible for looking after it.
Love Carpets and Flooring Ltd is registered in England and Wales, company number 14696726. We are registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office under registration number ZC105716.
When you use our contact form. We ask for your name, email address, a subject and your message. Our website host also automatically records the IP address and the browser and device you sent it from. That happens with every message and we have no way to switch it off, so we would rather tell you than hide it.
When you contact us any other way. If you phone us, email us, or call into the showroom — including to arrange a free Choose At Home visit or to ask about 0%* finance — we keep whatever you give us. That is usually your name, phone number, email address, your home address if we are visiting or delivering, and the room measurements and details we need to price your job.
When you simply browse the site. We use Google Analytics to understand how many people visit and which pages they read. It places two small files (cookies) on your device, called _ga and _ga_24F9F4E0SM, which last about 13 months. We only ever see totals and trends, never who you are.
Our pages also load their lettering from Google’s font service, which means your IP address is sent to Google each time you open a page, even if you do nothing else. This is simply how the site is built, and we think you should know.
We use your information to reply to your enquiry, to prepare and send you a quote, to arrange a free Choose At Home visit, to arrange delivery and fitting, and to keep a record of work we have carried out in case you come back to us or there is a problem later.
We do this because you have asked us to help you, and because we have a legitimate interest in running the business properly and keeping sensible records of our customers and jobs.
We will not send you marketing emails unless you have asked us to, and we never sell your details to anyone.
Fitters. Fitting is arranged through trusted contractors. Where it is needed to get your floor fitted, we pass on the details they need — usually your name, address and phone number, so they can arrange a time with you. We only do this where it is necessary for your job.
Finance. We do not pass your details to our finance partner. If you want 0%* finance we will explain how it works, and you apply directly to Ideal4Finance yourself, so your application details go straight to them rather than through us.
Companies that run our systems. Our website is hosted by Netlify, which stores messages sent through the contact form on servers outside the UK, and our site uses Google Analytics and Google’s font service as described above. Both companies are required to protect your information under contract and under data protection law.
Anyone we are legally required to tell. For example HMRC, or if we were ever obliged to by law.
We keep enquiries and quote details for two years from the last time we heard from you, and then delete them. If you go ahead with an order, the paperwork for that job is kept for longer as part of our normal business records.
Under UK data protection law you have the right to ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, to have anything wrong put right, to ask us to delete it, to object to how we are using it, or to ask us to restrict what we do with it.
To ask about any of this, just email lcfltd2023@gmail.com or phone 01925 419423. We will respond within one month, and it will not cost you anything.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time and the site will still work normally. Blocking them simply means we will not count your visit.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first and we will do our best to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office, the UK’s data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
